Technology

If you've started to take an interest in music technology but would like help and want to learn more then these are the lessons for you.

If you've started to do some recording using a computer or using synthesisers and electronic keyboards then I can help you get the best from your equipment. Where possible it makes sense to learn using your own equipment, so lessons can be based around this.

In addition, I can work through a general course on music technology and sound recording. Some of the areas which can be covered include::

  • Theory and practical use of different microphones
  • Setting up a basic but powerful home studio
  • Recording techniques for different instruments and vocals
  • Sequencers and drum programming
  • Hardware and Software synthesisers
  • Mixing and use of effects
  • Location sound recording
  • Sound effects and Sound design
  • Introduction to writing music for video

  • Lessons can be run on a one-to-one basis or for 2 people at a time*. These lessons are a minimum of 1 hour sessions

    * Note this really needs to be 2 friends who have agreed they would like to learn together and have the same interests and commitment. If this option is taken, a saving of 25% can be made per person
